Multiple Notifications / Remote Locations
Toombs Inc. worked closely with the Company’s HR team during the planning and coordination process of this significant notification.
Toombs Inc. provided unlimited support (including training and regular touch points) to support the HR and Management teams in the lead up to the employee notifications.
The Toombs Inc. team worked to assist in scripting the notification messaging to ensure a high-quality, respectful, and consistent approach was taken throughout all 85 notifications.
To reduce the impact on the remaining workforce, Toombs Inc. collaborated with the HR team to
- create an information package including a Q&A document to address any fears, concerns, and questions raised by the notifications
- run team townhall meetings on the day of company downsizing
- facilitate one-on-one sessions to help employees deal with ‘survivor’ symptoms
Following the layoffs, all initial career transition follow-up meetings were scheduled the day after the notifications. This approach ensured employees had an assigned Toombs Inc. career consultant working with them immediately.
Initial meetings focused on navigating clients through their severance questions and scheduling financial counselling meetings.
Each employee received instant access to Job Vertex portal, and in-house resources. Career Transition programs were delivered per each clients’ preference and residential location, with options of one-on-one meetings, scheduled telephone or Skype appointments, or a combination of both.
“Having been downsized four times in my career and assigned to other outplacement agencies, I can attest that there’s no substitute to having full unlimited access to a career coach that you can meet in person and a flexible program that can be customized.”
“It was very helpful to have Toombs support us during our staff reduction. Toombs’ commitment to service is the majority of the reason we made it through the challenging day.”
“I immensely appreciated the help of our Toombs consultant and her team. Things went off without a “glitch,” and our employees felt respected and cared for.”
