Director, Administrative Operations
A tech-savvy, practical and imaginative leader, Karen is Toombs Inc.’s Director of Administrative Operations. With a background in management, accounting, and technology, she has a solid understanding of business operations, project management, and human resources. Karen is responsible for leading the development and implementation of operational efficiencies across Toombs Inc.’s Canadian offices and International partnerships.
Thirteen years ago, Karen became a client of Toombs Inc. after an elected lay-off from a large financial organization. This was her first introduction to career transition services. Upon making a strong connection with her career coach, and learning about the company, they both realized it would be a perfect fit. Karen then took on the opportunity to lead the business’ administration management team.
Day-to-day, Karen shines with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, which helps her establish excellent working relationships with clients, customers, and team members. In addition to her wealth of administrative management responsibilities, Karen is also responsible for overseeing company events, marketing, managing accounts payable, and receivables. She also leads all technology operations, including IT infrastructure, data management, CRM, eLearning, and Job Vertex portal.
A Business Administration (Management) graduate from SAIT, Karen has more than twenty years’ experience in senior-level administrative management. Her resourcefulness and tenacity have allowed her to grow from office management roles, early in her career, to executive leadership.
